LaGuardia High School Honors Alumna Nicki Minaj as Hip-Hop Royalty
Before becoming one of the biggest names in music, Nicki Minaj was a drama student at New York City’s prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Today, the school is celebrating one of its own by recognizing the rap superstar as part of its tribute to Hip-Hop & R&B royalty.
Minaj, who attended LaGuardia’s highly competitive drama program, developed her performance skills long before she became a global chart-topping artist.
Our Queen’s theatrical training has often been reflected throughout her career, from her larger-than-life stage presence to the colorful characters and alter egos that have become synonymous with her genius brand.
LaGuardia High School has long been recognized for producing exceptional talent across music, theater, dance, and visual arts. Honoring Nicki Minaj celebrates not only her extraordinary accomplishments but also the school’s continued legacy of nurturing artists who go on to leave a lasting mark on the entertainment industry.
For current LaGuardia High School students, seeing one of their most famous alumni recognized where her artistic journey began is a powerful reminder that today’s classrooms can become tomorrow’s launching pads for global success.
Queen Nicki, the Barbz, Romanz, & Kenz remain proud of you!
